Granite Rapids

The rapids get big and serious in the inner gorge.  Granite Rapids at mile 93, where we camped on day 6, is a good example.  This exposure of one second or so contrasts the power and turbulence of the water with the solidity of the boulder in the foreground, which is about 6 feet wide.  Miss a few strokes here and you'll be upside down before you know what hit you!
