I usually finish a slide show with a sunset shot, but on this trip there weren't any good sunsets because there weren't any clouds—the downside of two weeks of perfect weather. Sorry, but you'll have to settle for this 4.6 hour exposure of star tracks above Parashant Wash. The dark-adapted human eye can't distinguish colors well, so most stars just look white. I'm happy to see how well the different star colors came out on film. This was my very first try at astrophotography, and now I can't wait for the next new moon. |
