Kulusuk

Our starting and ending point was the Inuit village of Kulusuk, which has about 50 houses, 300 people, and many times as many sled dogs.  The locals are used to tourists, and they pretty much ignored us and went about their daily routine of skinning seals, drying fish, and doing laundry.

Each village in this area is visited only once a year by a large supply ship, but in the summer there is a smaller ship that brings supplies to each village once a week.  If your gizmo breaks in November, place your order and wait for the next delivery sometime in July.  If you get a craving for Mexican food, fly to the US via Reykjavik.  This place may be scenic on a sunny day, but believe me, you would NOT want to spend the winter here.
