We strongly recommend that you turn off the television, get out of the house, and have some fun!  Here are a few good ways to get into action:

Wilderness Volunteers is our favorite organization.  This non-profit does service trips in National Parks and Forests, wilderness areas, wildlife refuges, and other public lands.  Curt is one of their trip leaders.  He leads at least one trip per year, usually in the spring in the desert southwest.

Visit the Wilderness Volunteers home page,  where you can see their complete list of trips and sign up for the best vacation you'll ever take.  Curt's next trip will be in May 2006, doing trail maintenance near the Escalante River in southern Utah.

Ann and Curt both lead white water raft trips for the Sierra Club.  In 2004 Ann led a trip on the Green River in Dinosaur National Monument, and Curt led a Grand Canyon trip.  In 2005, Curt led the Tatshenshini and Alsek Rivers trip.   You can see photos from some of these trips in the photo gallery.   Ann will be leading a family raft trip on the Lower Salmon River in Idaho in 2006.

If you want to see some images by a master nature photographer, visit Tony Kuyper's photo gallery.   We met Tony on our Grand Canyon raft trip a few years ago.  Curt in not ashamed to admit that he is unworthy even to blow the dust from Tony's lenses.  You'll also note that Curt stole a lot of HTML code from Tony's web site.
