Image Description
I seldom take a picture of a person—you can see them every day and few
of them are as pretty as a mountain. But now and then, someone stands out enough
to get my attention. My friend Dusty was well worth a photo as we approached one of
our many climbs together during my first year in Seattle.
This photo shows the essence of Cascade approaches: impenetrable vegetation and mud.
You have to pay your dues before you get to the sparking glaciers and soaring
granite ridges. If you don't know what devil's club and slide alder are, let me know
the next time you're in Seattle and I'll send you on a hike you won't forget.
You'll connect with your inner gardener for sure.
